Promoting products with just a text description and image can be tough for your visitors to really see the quality of a product. One solution is to make video reviews of products you are promoting on your blog. Creating a youtube channel and and including a link to your blog is also a great way to drive traffic. If you are not equipped to create your own videos you can always include videos you find on youtube that feature your product.

I ran across this website and found some great Avon videos that are also hosted through youtube.

Part of your Off-Page SEO plan should be to create quality back links. In the log term quality back links will improve your websites page ranking, and in the short term it will help get your website indexed and listed on search engines.

There are a few ways to get back links from participating in a link exchange program, paying someone to link to you, and doing it yourself. This article is going to focus on how you can create some quality back links yourself and all that is required is a little time on your part.

You should already have your blog or website linked from your Facebook, and Twitter pages so I will skip those two. But if you don’t have your blog linked to these you should make time to do it.

It is important to mention here that you should be linking to your blog and not to your Avon store. Remember the goal is to build up your blog and not your Avon store. It is fine to link to both, but just be sure you always remember to link to your blog.

One important thing to know is that the Authority of a site that is linking to you is valuable. You can work to be linked from 100 small unknown sites and not get much validity. However if you get linked from one site that has Authority you may get results overnight. So what is an Authority website? When I use the term Authority I am talking about website that the Search Engines like, and that get indexed often.

The first back link I want to talk about is EzineArticles.com. How this works is that you write an article and submit for them to be publish. Your article signature will include the back link to your blog. There are other article publishing websites and they also work well. I suggest submitting your article to as many as you like. I typically submit each of my articles to three or four of these sites. But I always submit to Ezine first because it has a lot of Authority. Before ever spending any of your time writing an article first read their Editorial Guidelines. You article will be rejected if it doesn’t meet their qualifications.
The article you write should include keywords that are relevant to your blog, and will help drive traffic to your blog.

The second back link you should work on is Squidoo. This is a lot like a blog, and they do not require that your articles be approved. You can create a Squidoo page for each topic you want to promote and link it back to your website. Squidoo also allows you to earn money though advertising on your page.

Finally another great way to get traffic back to your blog is to create another blog on Blogger or WordPress for free. You can make these new blogs about micro-niche topics that correspond to your main blog. For example if your main blog is focused around your Avon product reviews one of your micro-niche blog may be all about women perfume. The great thing about this is that it allows you to link back to your main blog, and allows you to link to your Avon store for each product.

I am sure you have noticed one main theme about these linking solutions. They are all time consuming! I suggest dedicating yourself to working one of them at a time for a few weeks each.

You are practicing strong marketing fundamentals, your blog titles are strong, your copy grabs the visitor’s attention, and the product is prominently displayed in each post. The next step is to tell you visitors exactly what to do. You need a clear message or “call to action”. The action is to convert their visit into a sale.

There are many ways to present the call to action. You need to say “Buy Now” with out coming off to strong or cheesy.

Here are some common “call to action” phrases:

1) Buy Now for only $9.99

2) For a short time only

3) Act now – offer expires soon

You can even use more than one ‘call to action” in a single post. You can have a link statement like “Buy Now for Only $9.99” at the top of the post combined with a nice big “Buy Now” button at the end of the post.

I prefer Buy Now buttons because they are common place, and the convert really well.
I have created some buttons that you can download and use on your blog for free.

On Page SEO is how you prepare your blog or website for maximum search engine attention. Your E-Rep homepage does not allow you to have the kind of control you need to do On Page SEO effectively so this article is aimed at E-Reps Bloggers.

You should think of each product you pick to blog about as a landing page for that product. You should be writing content for your blog post that will improve its search engine ranking. Think of each product posting as a mini website by itself that is aimed at customers looking for that product. I call it a landing page because if you are successful you customers will find your blog by your product pages in searches.

By using a keyword tool you can look at the terms people search for that are related to your product. You want to include these keywords in your article to help get your site indexed and ranked by search engines for that term. This is actually a pretty easy process but it does require creativity and a little time. I use the Google Keyword Tool to find the words I need to include in my articles.

Google AdWords: Keyword Tool

Below I walk you through an example of the process:

Product Pick: Complete custom-eyes kit! (click here for description)

Google Monthly Search Results:
Eyeshadow = 2,740,000
Mascara =  5,000,000
Eye Liner = 368,000
Eyeshadow Brush = 12,100

Top Keywords and Key Phrases:

apply eyeshadow

best mascara

eye makeup

how to apply eye line

makeup brush

Article: The Compete Custom Eyes Kit includes the best mascara I have ever used. You get all the eye makeup you need for only 12.99. Stop wondering how to apply you eyeliner because you have your pick of four customized kits to fit your eye color.

Note:
After the article I will copy and paste some of Avon’s details about the product.

Notice how I used the keywords in the article. You can also see that each of the items in this kit have a huge search volume. You will not receive all the traffic from these searches, but it is perfectly reasonable to get around 1% of it if you do it right. For example if you generate just 1% of the search volume for mascara you will have about 50,000 hits per month. I wasn’t that lucky with this product but it did drive some traffic. After a month of having this product on line and I got 3000 hits for the keyword phrase “how to apply eye liner” and sold about 120 of these kits.

There is A LOT of competition for most makeup keywords, so keep that in mind when picking which keyword phrases to use. You want to try and pick keywords that don’t have so much competition that you can’t compete.
